Attention: You are reading the blog of a thrity-year old! So if you were expecting to read the life and times of a hot-shot, jet-set twenty-something, then you are on the wrong pag! Hahaha…
So yup, I turned 30 yesterday. I had a great birthday weekend and despite my whining about getting older, I actually don’t mind.
At first, I wasn't going to celebrate my birthday at all. Then I had ideas of going out to a club and having a wild time. But who am I kidding? I decided that wasn't really my thing and just wanted something low-key and simple.
So I celebrated my birthday a day early and had lunch with some of my close friends on July 8th. We went to Jeeb, this little Thai joint in the Lower East Side, and had a nice, leisurely lunch in their garden patio. I really enjoyed myself and had a wonderful time! Thank you to my friends who were able to attend and gave me the coolest gifts! You guys are the bestest! Who, but my friends would humor me and actually get me stuff from my wishlist? I heart my super-generous friends.
Then on July 9th, the day of my actual birthday, we went up to Connecticut to celebrate my friend Luke’s 30th birthday (yes, we have the same birthday). Girlie threw him a surprise birthday and we joined in on the fun.
All in all, I had a kick-arse time and don’t feel old at all. They say 30 is the new “21” and that your 30’s will bring you the confidence, clarity, and the wisdom that you just don’t get yet in your twenties. I’m inclined to agree. I love my life and everything in it! I wouldn’t trade it for the world!
Click here for my album of My Super Sweet 16 Party. (I was hoping that since it was my birthday, my pics would come out semi-decent, but no dice. I am officially, the least photogenic person in the world complete with a goofy smile).
Yay and I'm 30!
